Strange, like Five Children & It. Not sure what I was expecting since all I'd ever heard of Nesbit was as the author of the Railway Children so when I saw these two in a roadside library I picked them up
Five British children discover in their new carpet an egg, which hatches into a phoenix that takes them on a series of fantastic adventures around the world.
