I honestly hadn't remembered just HOW much of a drag Jordan's books are at times. Or is it the disconnect between reading novels that were released with years between them back to back that makes it so glaring? I couldn't say.
For this one, here's my take-away: What even is this "Knife of Dreams"? Having just finished the book, I most certainly couldn't tell you. Unlike some of the other books in the serious, dreams and the Dreamworld don't seem to play any mayor role, and I don't recall any knife of significance being mentioned.
Don't get me wrong. Jordan can really write well, and his epic, EPIC story has soooo much good in it. But, and I know this get's repetitive, stricter editing, cutting down to 12, or 10 books, and it would still be one of the greatest works of fantasy literature - but half as hard to re-read. :)
