Such a joyful, picturesque little book.
Of its time, there are several offhanded sexist comments which I might omit if I were reading it to a child but it certainly doesn’t dominate the story.
A brief retelling, with movable illustrations, of the escapades of four animal friends who live along a river in the English countryside--Toad, Mole, Rat, and Badger.
