I've read about a third of the book. And I'm really surprised, in a positive way. My only experience with the BettleTech universe so far was the HBS' computer game BattleTech, which doesn't pay too much attention to the lore. So I was surprised to see how deep and detailed the lore actually seems to be. While reading, I look up names of people, places and battlemechs on the BattleTechWiki sarna.net (skipping the parts that might spoil thie story of this book). It's interesting to see that there is a huge persistent universe behind all this. The book itself tells an interesting story. The characters, the situations, both in and out of battle are well described. I have a lot of fun reading this book. Since I didn't read a book in English in a while, I might take a bit more time, than I'd usually need for a such a book though. But I enjoy this time.
