I think I need to read this book to get a better understanding of modern-day #Zionism .

From what I understand, the Jewish Bund was an international, Socialist movement of Jews who were explicitly anti-Zionist - they saw their homes as wherever they lived right now, instead of Mandate Palestine. Yet during the Holocaust, Jews in Europe were systematically betrayed not just by their immediate neighbors, but also by all the Western nations who denied them refuge.

After this, no matter what you think of what Zionism is now, it should not be hard to understand why so many Jews see it as important to have a country where they, and only they, control their own security.
