This is the third book in the series, if you haven't read the first two then it's highly suggested you do so, as otherwise this book won't make sense.

Content Warnings for the book: violence (including guns, killing and bombs), cops, swearing, alcohol drinking

The prologue provides a nice high-level review of what happened in the last book for those who had forgotten (like me).

The author continues to be a great story teller, it's like you're in the backseat and reading the minds of each character.

Reading it can get you emotionally involved (which is most likely what the author wants), but there are a number of slow sections. The author does do a nice job of having the slow lead to something, and you may not even know what it is.

"The stream of expletives that flew from her mouth would have had her mother blushing and her father taking her out for a congratulatory ice cream cone."

Multiple times I laughed at what the author came up with for the main character to do or think. WWRD (what would Rockfish do) is one that almost got me howling in laughter.

"he didn’t recognize the number.Car warranty? Maybe my computer has a virus on it? Or my favorite, I’ve won an all expenses paid vacation to Timeshare Land."

"“I always worry.” “I know, it comes standard on the Millennial base model.”"

I look forward to the next book in the series.

"Why can’t we fast-forward to the end?"
