wants to read Magie im Mittelalter by Helmut Birkhan (Beck'sche reihe, #1901)

Helmut Birkhan: Magie im Mittelalter (German language, 2010, Verlag C.H. Beck) No rating

This book on "Magic in the Middle Ages" has the following chapters:

  • Definition of "Magic"
  • Patterns of thought underlying superstition and magic
  • Magic of scholars in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Age
  • Magic in folk belief
  • Increase in magical practice in the Late Medieval Ages

All of these should be highly relevant and useful for my planned book on tales of #magic from German #folklore.
