I don't really know what to say about that book. I had found it somewhere on the Internet and all I knew was that it had positive reviews. I grabed it in some store and started reading. The first half of the book I didn't know what to think of it. Sometimes it felt almost boring, following Piranesi through the endless halls of the house. In the second half it took up some speed. But not as much that got me excited about it. I think I had expected something else.
My feelings about the book changed in the last few chapters. I don't know exactly what it was but I think I got it in the end. I understood. And I had tears in my eyes.
Piranesi is nothing and everything to the reader. "Understanding" it is to reflect on yourself. Read it and build your own …

I didn't finished the book. I stopped reading about 1/3 in. Not because it is bad but because its more of a handbook and I just don't feel "entertained". Besides of that I am a GM since over 35 years now and I don't think I will learn many new things at this point. I definitely will come back to it but chapterwise.

As good as its predecessor

What to say other than: As good as its predecessor.
I really enjoyed reading Caliban's War. It expands the cast, continues the very good storyline consistantly and is exciting and diverting as hell. I can't believe I missed out on these books for so long. I think I will watch the TV show Season 2 now and see how good it is compared to the book.
I definitely will continue the series after having a short break from the crew of the Rocinante.
What to say other than: As good as its predecessor.

A wonderful start with meaningful main characters nicely told. Personally I don't like "school stories" because they are everywhere nowadays but its different here so that I liked it nevertheless. Unfortunately the King Killer Chronicles are not yet fully releases so that I will stop reading them until they are.
